World Card Making Day Flashback Friday!

Hi All,
Remember me?  I have been busy creating away but have not posted in a while.   That is until Lisa from Sketch N Scrap gave me the honor of creating a card using a past sketch.   It was the first sketch featured on Sketch N Scrap!

The jar & floral images are from the Jar of Love stamp set and the sentiment is from the Birthday Fiesta stamp set.
The washi tape and pattern paper are from the Affectionately Yours Suite.

Sketch #82

Ready for another layout sketch.  This is a bittersweet one! 
It is my last sketch as a design team member. 
My two terms are up and it is time to let some new talent in.

Sketch N Scrap Birthday Bash Challenge

Hi All,
I hope you have been going joining us all month for our Birthday Bash!
Today's challenge is create a layout using the same color with three different patterns!

Need an example?
I created this layout using the color Yellow (or golden yellow) with three different patterns:

 

 

The first pattern is the embossed dot cardstock, the 2nd pattern is with stars and the third is the diagonal striped pattern on the chevron.

If you look closely you can pick three different patterns with the red & black colors also!

Card Sketch # 50

Hi All,

  I created my card using both retired and current Stampin' Up supplies:

 

The strips are from a retired DSP, I used the 12"sticker borders.  I loved the effect and colors!  The borders were my starting point in choosing colors and stamps.

National Scrapbooking Day Sketch ( A Little Late)

 

Hi All,

As I am preparing my post for the next upcoming sketches and challenges, I realized my National Scrapbooking Day Post was not published!  (I must admit I saved the post but didn't schedule it!)

So here it is a little late, but a sketch can ALWAYS be used right!
Heck you can created loads of different layouts with the same sketch.  That is what we do every month at Sketch N Scrap.  We are given 1 sketch and a team of designers create very different layouts using the same sketch.

Well enough with my babbling...
Here is the NSD Sketch created by Lisa:

And this is what I created:

The left page of this double pager was created using the sketch and since I had additional photos, I extended the page and used the same PP to tie the two pages together.

Twistback Thursday #5

Hooray it is Twistback Thursday, which means we have another sketch for you!
Are you enjoying this beautiful weather! If you have this month's twistback is for you.
This months twist is to create and layout with the sketch below AND to use photos from the great outdoors!  Any outdoor adventure will do!

I warned you, I am in the middle of creating a Disney Cruise album so my current layouts are for this album. One of the stops on our Cruise was to Cozumel Mexico.  Our excursion for that day was to the Playa Del Carmen resort which has this awesome Water Trampoline.  It was a lot of work to swim to and a lot of work to go through the obstacles but SOO much fun.

Sketch N Scrap is turning 3!

Sketch N Scrap will be turning 3 next month.  Which means you earn the presents!  During the month of May there will be a different challenge each day.  We will have a month long blog hop from each of the designers and we invite you to join us!  Stay tuned for more details.

April 1st Sketch at Sketch N Scrap

Hello and Happy Easter and/or Passover!

The 1st sketch for Sketch N Scrap is very different from past sketches and layouts I have done.  I loved that it made me really think out of the box (or into the box?).
So here is Sketch N Scrap Sketch #78 by Lisa Hidy:

The pattern paper is from Queen & Co, & Imaginisce.  The paint brush is a silhouette file.
The circle letters are from the Disney Cruise scrapbooking Kit that I bought on the cruise.

Oh and just a heads up!  My family vacation this past Thanksgiving was on a Disney Cruise so look out for more cruise layouts in the future

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #46

Hi All,   I have another card here created by using a sketch from Lisa Hidy:





This sketch made my card super easy & quick to put together!



All Stampin Up products were used:
The stripes are Color me Fall Washi tape set (now available in the clearance rack)
Wood Grain textured embossing folder on the whisper white cardstock
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Retired Items Simply stars stamp set with small & large star punches
Happy Birthday was created with bitty banners Framelit and coordinating Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.

Ink Colors used: In Colors 2014-2016 Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist & Crumb Cake on the Happy Birthday sentiment

Card Sketch 38 & 39

Is it me or is this a fun, fast and crazy season!
While we were away on a sun-filled vacation sketch #38 was released and sketch #39 is now up.

Sketch #38 was created by Lisa Hidy.




I loved the Christmas theme and to really help me get my cards done this year, I stayed with the Christmas theme on my version of the sketch:


The card was created with all Stampin Up' products.  Most items are retired however, the designer paper is available under the year end clearance sale until supplies last.  The cardstock is real red.

This sketch was really fun to play with. 



I enjoyed taking my big shot out and embossing and die cutting the Core'dinations Stampin' up cardstock.  I do not take that machine out often!

Card Sketch # 34

 

 

Are you ready for another fun sketch!  This one screams everything fall! 

 

 

And this is my card inspired by the sketch!

 

 

 

Ok, this not necessarily a fall card but my anniversary is in November and this gave me the opportunity to get my card done ahead of time. 

I used all items in my stash.  I spritz red Inkadoo spray paint onto the cardstock then added 3 different washi tapes the two red tapes are from Target and the brown floral is from W R Memory Keepers.  I used a project life card and sponged the edges with Real Red Ink.  The PL card was popped off the Crumb Cake Cardstock.  The red glittered clothes pin was from Michael's (in the $1 Bin!), I created the red heart with Stampin' Up's Red Glitter Cardstock and the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.

Inspired by Layout #9

Are you ready for another layout?
Yes it is another dance layout.
Yes it is another large one photo layout.
& Yes it was created using another Sketch-N-Scrap sketch.

But let's first see the initial layout created by our own Wendy:



Isn't it great!  I love that it was created without photos and lots of journaling!
Now lets see the sketch that was Inspired by the Layout..



I have to say, this sketch is pretty unique!  Now lets take a look at the layout I created using the sketch:



The first thing that appealed to me was the left section with the column of boxes.  I created 2 different columns, one with black stars, the 2nd was created with the cover sheet of the pattern paper kit! 
Paper is from Bella Blvd Lucky Stars pattern paper kit.  The pink glitter CS is from Recollections (Michael's), the Camera is from Teresa Collins and the heart 2 dance chipboard is from my stash for several years.  I painted the chipboard with pink acrylic paint then added a coat of glitter.

Card Sketch #33!

 

September is here and kids are back to school!  It also means another month and new sketches!  This first sketch for this month is this lovely one:

After seeing this, I first thought of using scrap pieces of pattern paper, then I thought washi tape, but as I walked into my crafting room I instantly thought of the Stampin' Up's Tape It Stamp Set.

 

The colors used are the new 2014-16 In-Colors: Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey.



The Ribbon and Cardstock and Sentiment is in Blackberry Bliss and the butterfly is a Jenni Bowlin embellishment I have had in my stash for a few years now.

Sketch N Scrap Sketch #32

Is it that time for another amazing sketch? Yes it is!  Here goes Sketch #32 by the Talented Lisa Hidy!

For this sketch, I used all Stampin' Up products and I automatically pictured the Papillion Potpourri  stamp set.  Three butterflies in a row..what can be better! The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banner stamp set and die combo and the banners were created using the Banner Blast Stamp set and punch (that banner punch has made another appearance) I used the colors: Calypso Coral on the cardstock stamp images and twine, Early Espresso for the background block & stamped images, and finally Old Olive for the remaining stamped images.   This combo is very earthy but the pop of Calypso Coral also makes it trendy.

Inspired by Sketch #8

I don't know about you but every year when my kids take school, dance or sports portraits, I take the previous year pictures out of my picture frames and put the new portraits in the frame.  The older portraits are then thrown into a 12x12 Iris storage container.
My currently scrapbooking project is to get all the school, dance and sports portraits out of the storage box and into my scrapbooks.

So when Kelly Holifield asked me to design a layout for the Sketch N Scrap Inspired by Sketch I was absolutely honored!   I already knew the layout would feature one of the portraits that needs to be in my daughters dance scrapbook.

This photo is from my daughters 2013 Nutcracker Performance.  The pattern paper is from Echo Park's Mini Theme line Le Ballet du Grand.  The crepe flower and polka dot banner was created using Maya Road Crepe paper and a large glue dot.  Fabulous title is from Bella Blvd.
The Blue flower is from a retire Stampin' Up paper line.  Flower and journaling spot is from Fancy Pant's Trendsetter line.

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #31

Are you ready for another fun card sketch?
I sure am!  I really enjoyed this sketch because of the HUGE sentiment or project life card option:

 



Like I said, it is a really fun sketch.   My card came together really quick and easy.



I used all Stampin' up products (except the Birthday file from Miss Kates Cuttables) but it was cut using Strawberry Slush Cardstock along with the three hearts popped up with dimensionals.
The main cardstock color is Bermuda Bay.  The HAPPY card is from the New Stampin' Up Project life line "Everyday Adventure".

Sketch N Scrap, Skech #30

Lisa Hidy created this wonderful sketch for us to play with:



I created this card:

My favorite part of the sketch was the huge circle in the middle.   To create this card I used all Stampin' Up! supplies.
The cardstock is basic grey embossed with the cloudy day embossing folder.  The "sun" was created with the sunburst framelit die with Daffodil Delight cardstock.  The sentiment is from the retired Sale-A-Brationstamp set, See you later in basic grey and daffodil delight Stampin' up! markers.
The butterfly was stamped using the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and small butterfly punch along with basic rhinestones.

Inspired by Sketch #7

I may be a card designer for Sketch N Scrap but I had the opportunity to create a layout.  The scrapper in me was thrilled!  I used this Sketch which was inspired by a layout created by Leah Burgett who is a talented lady

My layout was created slightly different.  I kept the one photo layout but used a 8x10 portrait.  I added a journaling spot and a project life card to place the title. The banner was created using Stampin Up! twine in Island Indigo, banner punch and embellishments from the Little Yellow Bicycle Just Because line.  The pattern paper and journaling spot are also from the Little Yellow Bicycle Just Because Line.
